Biosynth

1. Carbohydrates

Biosynth offers a comprehensive range of carbohydrate products, including monosaccharide building blocks, functionalized sugars (such as fluorinated, azido, amino, and lactone derivatives), glucuronic acids, oligosaccharide reference compounds (both natural and synthetic), polysaccharides, and glycosyl detergents. These products support applications in glycobiology, chemoenzymatic glycosylation, glycan assembly, and protein glycosylation studies.

2. Nucleosides

Biosynth provides a full spectrum of nucleosides, nucleotides, and nucleic acid derivatives, including ribonucleosides, 2'-deoxynucleosides, dideoxynucleosides, and modified derivatives. Modifications on the sugar and/or base include fluorination, methylation, amination, and aza substitutions. The portfolio also includes nucleosides and nucleotides specifically designed for click chemistry applications.

3. Antimicrobials

Antimicrobials are natural or synthetic compounds that kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms, including bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. These compounds target various cellular components such as bacterial/fungal cell walls, viral capsids, enzymes involved in DNA transcription, and cellular metabolism. Biosynth offers a wide range of antimicrobial products, including antibiotics, antivirals, antifungals, and antiprotozoal agents.

4. Enzyme Substrates

Biosynth’s enzyme substrates are widely used in culture media, diagnostics, food, and environmental testing. The product range includes chromogenic and fluorogenic substrates, as well as substrates for diagnostic staining, probes, and bioluminescence applications. The company also supplies high-purity enzyme substrates for lysosomal storage disorder testing. As a leader in innovation, Biosynth has developed novel reagents such as AquaSpark® chemiluminescent substrates and Aldol® substrates and probes.

5. Natural Products

Biosynth offers more than 2,000 natural products, with a strong focus on phytochemicals (especially flavonoids) and other natural derivatives, including chalcones, alkaloids, caffeoylquinic acids, coumarins, terpenes, and steroids. These high-purity compounds are used in research, development, regulatory, and testing applications across biology, metabolomics, agriculture, crop protection, nutrition, nutraceuticals, food and feed, flavors and fragrances, cosmetics, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals.

6. Enzymes

Biosynth provides a collection of oxidoreductases, including peroxidases—particularly horseradish peroxidase (HRP) for immunoassays—catalase, and highly stable luciferase enzymes. Within hydrolases, the company offers high-performance beta-lactamases for sterility testing, as well as lipases and proteases for various applications. In the lyase category, Biosynth supplies nitrile hydratases for the key conversion of nitriles into corresponding amides.

7. Life Science Reagents

Biosynth’s life science portfolio includes buffers, dyes, stains, reagents, and bioactive molecules used in research. The company offers a wide range of small molecule ligands that interact with proteins or nucleic acids at the molecular level, phospholipids for membrane studies or formulation work, as well as peptides, proteins, and antibodies. Additionally, it provides numerous products for proteomics research and development.

8. Research Chemicals

Research chemicals are typically used as starting materials for specialty chemicals. These include derivatives of alkanes, alkenes, and alkynes, as well as aromatic compounds and their derivatives. Biosynth also offers tools for peptide synthesis, including amino acids, coupling reagents, resins, and linkers. The research chemicals portfolio further includes inorganic chemicals, polyamines, polymers, and a wide range of reagents such as alcohol protecting agents, fluorine donors, oxidizing agents, and detection reagents.

9. Impurities
