▉ Bovine Cortical Bone Slices (200 μm / 400 μm)
Boneslices offers bovine cortical bone slices with thicknesses of 200 μm and 400 μm, specifically designed for osteoclast-mediated bone resorption assays. Prior to use, the slices should be rehydrated in culture medium. Mature or immature osteoclasts derived from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) or co-culture systems can be seeded onto the bone surface. Depending on cell maturity and experimental conditions, resorption pits typically form within 3–14 days. Osteoclast presence can be assessed via tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAcP) activity, while toluidine blue staining enables visualization of resorption pits and trenches, supporting quantitative and morphological analysis.
