73-1535PSK, TA1535/p SK 1002, STDisc™ Salmonella typhimurium strains for use in the bacterial mutagenesis assay described by Maron & Ames, Mutat. Res. 113: 173, 1983. 73-1535pSK is a Salmonella strain for use in the SOS/UMU-test described by Oda et. al. Mutat. Res. 147: 219, 1985. Offered in proprietary transport medium (PTM™). TA1535pSK (hisG46, uvrB, rfa, pSK1002). AMES PRODUCTS, BACTERIAL TESTER STRAINS, Most commonly employed bacterial strains for use in mutagenicity testing are provided in convenient lyophilized disc format. Some strains are not amenable to freeze drying and are offered either suspended in transport medium or frozen. Strains are periodically characterized and verified for diagnostic phenotypes. Confirmed strains were lyophilized in modified ATCC Reagent 18, suspended in transport medium (73-1535psk), or frozen (TAMix). After preservation, samples were cultured and their phenotypes and responses to diagnostic mutagens again determined. Strains are accompanied by Quality Control statements that include the results of phenotypic confirmation, diagnostic mutagen response and viability assessment.
